Canopy at Hotel International, Sofia

The project is part of the concept for the comprehensive renovation of the area in front of the hotel facing Narodno Sabranie Square; this includes plans for a sun-protection structure for the restaurant terrace, the reconstruction of the existing entrance vestibule, and the complete renewal of the paving and green areas in front of the hotel.

The canopy shares a design language with the movable sun-protection structure covering the adjacent terrace of the hotel’s main restaurant. The project’s primary objective is to harmoniously integrate both structures into the context of one of the capital’s most significant public spaces—National Assembly Square. The key materials employed include steel for the primary load-bearing structure (columns and beams), aluminum box-section profiles for the roof purlins, printed laminated glass panels for the roofing, and aluminum-faced composite cladding.
